On 29th November 2025, Janardhan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha’s Changu Kana Thakur Higher Secondary Vidyalaya, New Panvel, organized a **District Level Bharatnatyam Dance Competition **on the auspicious occasion of the 75th Birthday Celebration of Honorable Chairman

Bharatnatyam, one of the oldest and most revered classical dance forms of India, known for its graceful movements, expressive gestures (mudras), rhythmic footwork and devotional themes, Bharatnatyam beautifully blends Nritta (pure dance), Nritya (expressive dance) and Natya (dramatic storytelling). It is a dance form that reflects discipline, cultural richness and spiritual expression, making it a significant part of India’s artistic heritage.
The event was conducted under the valuable guidance of Principal Mr. Prashant More Sir, Supervisor Mr. Ajit Sonawane Sir (Arts and Commerce) and Supervisor Mrs. Swati Patil Madam (Science).
The Chief Guest for the programme was Hon. Shri. Ramsheth Thakur Saheb (Chairman, JBSP Sanstha).

The competition was judged by Miss. Shivani Pacharkar and Miss. Greeshma Kariya, who evaluated the performances based on technique, expression, rhythm and stage presence.
The event was gracefully anchored by Miss Yogita Jori.
A total of 27 students from different schools and colleges enthusiastically participated in the competition, showcasing their talent and passion for classical dance.
Winners of the Competition
1.Miss. Sayee Kadam, 11th Std (Changu kana Thakur Secondary and higher Secondary Vidyalaya , New Panvel) – ₹5000 cash prize and trophy
2. Miss. Reshma Shri Senthil Kumar , 9th Std (Loknete Ramshet Thakur CBSE School, Kamothe) – ₹3000 cash prize and trophy
3. Miss. Ananya Gadepalli, 10th Std(D.A.V. Public School, Panvel) – ₹1500 cash prize and trophy
All participants performed exceptionally well and were awarded participation certificates in appreciation of their efforts.
The programme concluded with heartfelt appreciation for all students, teachers, judges and dignitaries whose efforts contributed to the grand success of the event.
